Located in Sonoma County in the lower Russian River Basin, the Sweetwater Springs Water District is seeking a new General Manager. The General Manager will carry out Board policy, provide guidance and input to the Board, and provide excellent leadership to the organization. The ideal candidate will be decisive, demonstrate solid critical thinking skills and possess good judgment. The new General Manager will possess solid interpersonal skills that will allow him/her to work successfully with staff, a diverse customer base, regulators, and the media. The selected individual will possess skills and experience in contract negotiations and monitoring. The General Manager should be business savvy and possess strong financial acumen. Knowledge of public agency finance and capital improvement planning, as well as solid financial and budgeting skills are essential. Candidates with experience in grant procurement are highly desired. The General Manager should possess a well rounded background in utilities/water that will allow him/her to successfully manage this multi-faceted operation. Solid knowledge of California water laws and water rights is highly desired. Candidates with knowledge of water well operations, water quality, and standards is necessary and experience in field operations is a plus. A background in wastewater management is a plus due to the potential involvement with wastewater operations. A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, public administration or a related field is required. The salary range for the General Manager is $110,000-$125,000, DOQ. The District also offers an attractive benefits package.
